Our philosophy is simple: WE WANT DEDICATED HEALERS IN THE ART OF ASTROLOGY!
We need astrologers that are COURAGEOUS, Mentally strong and ASTUTE!
We need them to be “Culturally Sophisticated”, Savvy, and “Dapper” in style and dress.
He/She needs to be “Charismatic,” exude an “aura” of mystery and “DIVINE ESSENCE” in every way and in every manner; knowing that he/she is representing THE ELOHIM.
An Astrologer is an “assigned ambassador” from THE ELOHIM, for the PEOPLE (that he should, through the agency of "THE SEVEN SHINING ONES", advance them)
A. Ethical considerations;
1. The astrologer should be morally and spiritually MOTIVATED to assist his fellow man or woman in his EVOLUTION.
2. He or She must be HONEST and COMPASSIONATE; possessing both EMOTIONAL EMPATHY and GRACE.
3. He or She must possess a BASIC EDUCATION: (High School/community college-at least!). AT BEST, he or she should possess post graduate degrees (preferably in the HUMANITIES, SOCIAL SCIENCES, and/or INTERNATIONAL STUDIES (with study abroad options).
4. It would be WONDERFUL if he or she is PROFICIENT in another language other than the native tongue.
5. He or she should be "SOCIAL CLASS-FLUID"; meaning, he or she should be culturally, socially, and psychologically comfortable servicing anyone from any socio-political or socio-economic "environment".
6. The astrologer should be TRANSPARENT in
anything and EVERYTHING he or she does, believes, and even holds dear (to him or herself); for people will KNOW and DETECT any kind of FALSEHOOD which may be hidden from view (on the part of the astrologer).
7. He or she should possess HUMOR
A. OTHER ETHICAL CONSIDERATION
* You are going to come across people who
appear (to you) to be WEAK; apply your
consultations "according to the psyche" of the client. You must be KEENLY AWARE of "the unseen" and/or hidden "undercurrents"
* You are going to come across people who do not want your opinion, but want to TEST you:
People will do this to TEST your "field of knowledge" (or knowledge-base). And JUDGE YOU based on your "level" of education...
* Clients will take your services and rescind on payment, and possibly put you on the defensive. if this happens, legally fight it; then FORGIVE THEM (for this could be a TEST!)
* Some clients will become despondent without
warning or explanation; let it go.
* You will come across clients who possess mental health issues; you must determine this
possibility EARLY in the "prospect" of service to assess if you can handle it (without professional training in the mental health field)
* You are going to experience clients who refuse to participate in an interpersonal
communicative way, making you do all the talking. If you encounter this, you must ACTIVELY ENGAGE them in dialogue of their
chart (let them know it is an interactive versus didactic dialogue).
B. THE NEED TO CERTIFY:
Steps are being taken at a congressional and l legislative level, to LEGITIMIZE the PRACTICE OF ASTROLOGY at a clinical and psychotherapeutic level.
C. THE CREDENTIALING PROCESS
We are currently taking legislative steps in securing a PETITION of said purpose.
II. YEARLY BREAKDOWN OF PROGRAM
The FIRST YEAR is strictly VIDEO-CLASS Lectures;
from MONDAY through FRIDAY, with no breaks.
Twelve months of INTENSE study, in which at the end of the year, a CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION will be awarded..
The SECOND AND THIRD YEAR are INTENSHIPS in which the student will be ASSIGNED a certain number of clients, carefully tracked and monitored, by school Administrative staff.
Students, now CERTIFIED, can CAST a HOROSCOPE OR NATAL BIRTH CHART, and engage in CHART DELINEATION.
EVERY FRIDAY, the students and instructor, will congregate on ZOOM VIDEO PLATFORM
An equal distribution of MALE and FEMALE Subjects, with SIGNED CONSENT, will be presented to each
student. A TOTAL OF TWO CHARTS PER WEEK; with CONFERENCING , REVIEW, and PLANNING being implemented as an EVALUATIOLN PROCESS to assess
CLIENT NEEDS and OUTCOMES.
This is a THREE-HOUR COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW PROCESS in which students, in an open forum, will discuss their client's charts with each other; each student having his/her opportunity to PRESENT THEIR INDIVIDUAL CASES, The students will have ONE HOUR to freely engage.
THE INSTRUCTOR will not participate in this process.
On the SECOND HOUR, each student will be given 15 minutes to PRESENT CASE to the INSTRUCTOR, and indicate if there are any PRESENTING CIRCUMSTANCES which may require PROFESSIONAL INTERVENTION (either by instructor, administrative staff or allied health professional).
In 15 minutes, the student will dialog HOW TO PRESENT THE BIRTH CHART to the client by using a simulation scenario; in which the instructor will POSE AS CLIENT receiving the service.
The Instructor will conduct a series of evaluation criteria to determine FIELD PERFORMANCE.
This criteria will not be published here.
In the THIRD HOUR, the instructor will EVALUATE the SUBJECTS' birth chart, and guide the emerging PROFESSIONAL, accordingly.
Review here, meaning, EVALUATION of presenting cases BEFORE AND AFTER INITIAL MEETING WITH CLIENT.
Here, we assess CLIENT NEEDS and discuss precursors to ADDRESS (not necessarily "meet") those NEEDS.
These precursors outline 7 TARGET INDICATORS TO CHART DELINEATION AND SYNTHESIS.

4. THE DECADE HE/SHE WAS BORN IN
5, WHAT GENERATION IS HE/SHE REPRESENTING

7. HAVE A DAILY SCHEDULE OF TRANSITS FOR THE DATE AND TIME OF SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT
Planning here, is to develop a GOAL, an OBJECTIVE in HOW YOU'LL BEGIN OR ESTABLISH A CONSULTATION-BASED RELATIONSHIP with the client.
Tools (of a social science nature) will be suggested and provided, to aid the student in his/her practice.
Students will only be allowed to discuss BASIC and INTERMEDIATE DELINEATION (unless otherwise directed).
A special OUTLINED INSTRUCTIONS Syllabus will be issued to each student, to guide him in his professional delineation of the BIRTH CHART.
The instructor will complete the ADVANCE SYNTHESIS on behalf of the students, providing a WRITTEN SYNOPSIS, as a hard copy, to the students(upon client consent).
On the THIRD YEAR, students will delineate ADVANCE SYNTHESIS. and learn the ABC'SS of EMPIRICAL RESEARCH
3 HOUR ZOOM MEETINGS THREE TIMES A WEEK.
III. QUIZZES AND EXAMS
The quizzes are based on video-class lectures and homework assignments. Two quizzes a week with a passing grade of 90 or better. Less than 90% will constitute a FAILING GRADE (and another quiz on similar material must be given, on appointment, arranged by instructor).
There will be no failing quizzes documented and kept on record
UNDERSTAND, this school program teaches APPLIED KNOWLEDGE, not ACADEMIC-THEORETICAL KNOWLEDGE.

AS A PROFESSIONAL ASTROLOGER, YOU WILL BE APPLYING TO REAL LIFE PRACTICE, EVERYTHING YOU ARE LEARNING , AT THE NEW SCHOOL OF ALEXANDRIA.
OUR THEORY is, you will ERROR. where you did not-so-well, on exams and quizzes.
If you fail in school, it will cost you A PASSING GRADE
If you make a "mistake"(failing grade), it might cost you your CREDIBILITY (in actual practice)
IV. SOCIAL MEDIA AND ONLINE VIRTUAL LEARNING
Students are encouraged to go on their own and do
THEIR OWN RESEARCH; and explore other platforms which offer additional REFERENCES to the Subject.
Social Media Platforms will not be used as a REFERENCE, in this academic program.
The New School of ALEXANDRIA is not certain whether there are other ONLINE VIRTUAL LEARNING CLASS-VIDEOS ON ASTROLOGY, for the internet. We know there are workshops that offer classes on astrology, but nothing COMPREHENSIVE or LINEAR (structured). They offer no 'synthesis", just a generic "cook book" delineating the basic 101's; nothing more.

In the 1980'S, emerged a NEW APPROACH to clinical practice in THE MENTAL/ALLIED HEALTH Field:
This branch of Astrology is practiced EXCLUSIVELY by Astrologers who hold credentialing licenses in CLIMICAL PSYCHOLOGY, PSYCHOTHERAPY, SOCIAL WORK, PSYCHOANALYSIS, GUIDANCE COUNSELORS
CASE WORKERS, AND SIMILAR DISCIPLINES.
These Astrologers are better educated, come from middle to upper middle class backgrounds, are much OLDER, and therefore bring much LIFE EXPERIENCE
TO THE TABLE.
As a former clinician myself , there are many good things about this new branch,, but there are some liabilities as well.
We will not teach, reference, or suggest any medical counsel or any mental health INSTRUCTION, since none of our students posses such backgrounds nor hold any credentialing licenses in the mental/allied health fields.
Delineating a birth chart , the actual one on one consultation, May look and feel similar to the psychotherapeutic process. AAPPROACH and MODALITY of STYLE may overlap with some "model theory" approach in professional clinical practice.
This is not our intent.
OUR aim as an educational organization, is to teach MUNDANE ASTROLOGY AND ESOTERIC ASTROLOGY.

ACADEMIC CALENDAR YEAR: 3 'YEARS' INTO ONE
Most colleges, universities, and community colleges have a spring and fall semester, comprised of three and a half month; with a course or class meeting twice a week, that totals six to seven months.
We have structured our academic calendar a little differently. Our semesters are two months in duration;
with a class or course meeting five times a week.
This is TWICE AND A HALF MORE than accredited institutions provide; these institutions use CREDITS, for Under Graduate curriculum, and UNITS, for Graduate and Post Graduate Studies.

Our GOAL is to one day develop A FOUR YEAR CURRICULUM-BASED EDUCATION ON ASTROLOGY.
This is a daunting task to undertake, considering there is no model to use as a reference point.

In four months we offer 88 CLASS SESSIONS (not including weekends).
A tradition college or university EQUATES SIX OR SIX AND A HALF MONTHS, TO ONE YEAR ACADEMIC COURSELOAD and COURSEWORK.
Although traditional institutions carry two to three months more than we do, our QUOTIENT index is HIGHER, due to a five class-a-week FREQUENCY; running time of course being an hour and fifteen minutes.

This design measures two outcomes; rate of learning, rate of absorption, and applicability

- To enroll in the astrology program, you must have completed or be currently taking the prerequisite OCCULT courses by September 12, 2022. You may continue to take these courses as electives, once the semester has begun.
- You must be 18 years of age to take the occult courses.
- You must be at least 26 years of age to start the astrology program.
- You may take the occult courses at your own pace. You may pay for these courses one at at time, or in one full payment. There is no reduced fee or scholarship for the occult courses.
- The essay should describe why you desire to become an astrologer, and how you will use this knowledge to benefit the public or your own professional practices. Describe your background, any experience you have in social service, clinical practice, anthropology, instruction, or therapeutic practice.
- You will be interviewed by our master astrologer, Fernando Prudhomme.
- You must possess a minimum of an Associates Degree or have completed college-level course work. Official transcripts should be emailed.
- If applying for the scholarship, a letter or document should be submitted detailing your economic hardship.

Unlike the 60's,70's and 80's, when there was no CELL PHONES, BEEPERS, SOCIAL MEDIA, OR the INTERNET, academic learning FOR THIS GENERATION, is at BEST, mediocre...
This generation, and the one before it, is bent on doing their OWN THIKNG, without GUIDANCE OR INSTRUCTION FROM US,
This certainly is a PROBLEM.
ACADEMIC LEARNING (institutions of learning), is a thing, or becoming, a thing, of the past.
These millennials are certainly not going to go onto DEBT over a 20 or 30 life of a student loan, if that even exist anymore (and if it is, it soon WILL NOT BE),.
With so much technology to DISTRACT them,, would they even know how to write a proper sentence, with a subject, a verb, and a noun...DO THEY EVEN KNOW WHAT THIS MEANS?
TEXTING has become the NEW STANDARD for written English, so IMAGINE the other academic subjects, like math and science?
ASTROLOGY is not offered in AMERICAN COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES-or even COMMUNITY COLLEGES, they use to, however (especially in the 70's).
And that presents another, PROBLEM.
Although astrology is POPULAR, no precedent has been proposed for a CREDENTIALING PETTITION HEARING, at both state and federal levels to certify astrological clinical practice or astrology in all its uses, in GENERAL.
Someone has to PIONEER this process-and trust me! It IS quite A POLITICAL, LOBBYING PROCESS...
I doubt VERY MUCH, a twenty year old astrologer, even if well trained, would be able to deliver OPTIMUM SERVICE to his/her clientele, being so YOUNG and lacking in LIFE EXPERIENCE; coupled with a BAD ATTITUDE or CONTEMPT, towards the current ruling generation (us).
HOW could you possibly help those you show contempt for?
Would they be willing and capable to fight and/or defend their interest

It would certainly put that negative behavior to good use.
Champion a cause for ASTROLOGY .
90% of our DEMOGRAPHICS are Young Adults ranging from 21 to 34 years of age.
65% of this population is actively EMPLOYEED (and are the ones which order 360.00 dollar birth charts!)
35% of this group is attending college.
AND OVER 90% of this demographic is STRONGLY INTERESTED in OCCULT PHYLOSOPHY; Astrology in particular.
By offering a scholarship,(two awardees per year), it creates a BRIDGE of TRUST. that perhaps we do CARE about them, and the Established Authority isn't all bad
This platform or medium of learning is FLEXIBLE and "authority friendly"
The scholarship also shows "demographic interest"
and target indicators such as age, sex, education, economic determinants, hobbies, careers, household dynamics and other measurable data.
Such information can be very valuable in assessing NEED, EFFICIENCY, and OUTCOME of ANY demographic group.

I. RULES OF CONDUCT AND BYLAWS
lecture-video time; ONE HOUR and FIFTEEN MINUTES.
1. must log in on time of session
2. All microphones are to be on at all times during lecture.
3. all students must answer questions asked by instructor with no calling out of turn.
4. no cross talking
5. no profanity
6. Arguments during lecture, if not encouraged by instructor or related to Astrology, is not permissible.
7.students can challenge instructor concerning Astrological, related topics, but not the instructor, personally.
8. students are not allowed to openly discuss their own natal charts with each other during lecture time without authorization from instructor.
9.Only Astrological related topics will be allowed
for discussions unless indicated otherwise
For the exception of INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS, only English is the language preferred.
11. note taking is not preferred due the RISK of missing pertinent or sensitive material
12.audio taping is allowed.
II. ABSENCE FROM VIRTUAL-ONLINE LECTURES
* Three absences allowed per semester (month)
*Three lateness per week will result in ONE ABSENCE
*. All materials covered in class must be compensated for; in case of ABSENCE
*There are 29 to 30 days in a month, 12 OR MORE ABSENCES WILL RESULT IN ACADEMIC PROBATION.
*If placed in academic probation, NO ABSENCES OR LATENESS WILL BE PERMISSABLE during probationary period
* EXCUSED OR NOT, absences will count
*IF LATE MORE THAN TEN MINUTES, INSTRUCTOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO LOG YOU IN MEETING OR NOT. IF NOT, IT WILL COUNT AS AN ABSENCE.
*If failed probationary period, due to absences and lateness, YOUR REGISTRATION AND ADMISSION WILL BE SUSPENDED FOR REVIEW. (A 7 day process in which we address the PROBLEM.)
We retain a no refund policy, Due to PROGRAM CONTENT and AUTHENTICITY: Each student receives "authentic", live stream, in REAL TIME. We cannot re-issue them to future students because the videos, once live stream is over, is mailed the next day, via e-mail.

Upon Administrative approval, ALL DEFERMENTS ARE LIMITED TO SIX MONTHS, and are granted through written approval.
Tuition payments and monthly payments are due on the 1st of the month. A late fee of $50 will be assessed after the 5th of the month, and every month thereafter. If you are experiencing financial difficulty, it is your responsibility to request and make payment arrangement with administration.
A student's registration may be suspended in the event of multiple, consecutive absences, and student failure to communicate intent to continue or withdraw from the program.
If a student chooses not to continue in the astrology program, a letter of official withdrawal must be written by the student and emailed to [email protected] The withdrawal becomes official on the date of the email.
The student has 30 days to return to the program and their status upon withdrawal.
The student is responsible for the make up of any missed quizzes, exams, homework, and class assignments that occurred within the 30 days of absence. If the student wishes to return after the 30 day absence, but not to exceed 45 days, they are responsible for any missed work, and will be required to submit a readmission fee of $1,000.
After 45 days of absence, readmission to the program will not be honored, under any circumstance, nor under the current or future administration.
If a student is receiving a partial or full scholarship, and they wish to withdraw from the program, scholarships will not be reinstated upon return to the program. The student will be required to submit appropriate tuition and fees, after the 45-day absence, upon return. They may reapply for the scholarship in the next calendar year, but risk competing for the scholarship amongst new, incoming students.

XII. Practicum Guidelines for Astrology Program – Student Responsibilities
As part of the astrology program of The New School of Alexandria, students have the opportunity to delineate astrological birth charts of clients. We consider this as practicum or field training. The practicum is designed to make you comfortable with questioning, speaking, presenting information, and interacting with clientele. It also gives you experience in seeing how the aspects apply to real-life situations.
Being an astrologer, you will encounter individuals from the following backgrounds:
History of addiction
Childhood abuse or trauma
Physical or domestic violence
Health related issues
If you feel that a client brings up an issue that you are not sure how to address, or that requires medical attention, please refer them back to the instructors, Fernando or Keisha, so we may refer them to the proper agencies.
You should know the crisis and suicide hotlines for the area where your client lives. Again, if you can not locate these phone numbers, please ask for assistance from the instructor. Act with empathy and kindness, in every situation. If at any time you or the client feels overwhelmed, kindly ask to reschedule and meet on another day.
Clients seeking astrologers do so because they are in need. They are looking for answers they cannot find anywhere else, and it is often related to a crisis. You hold a great responsibility, to them and yourself, to be present and attentive.
• Students are not to interpret birth charts for minors under age 18 or adults under 21 years of age, or anyone with a current mental health issue, and/or under the care of a psychiatrist.
• Students are not to interpret charts for couples.
• Students should do a basic interpretation, not intermediate or advanced.
• Do not ask leading questions to get an answer you are looking for.
• Students are expected to take notes on their client and the session, to be discussed in class meetings. Client confidentiality should be maintained.
